The Golf GTI is the best. It is fast — dashing from 0-62mph in 6.9sec and reaching 145mph — and foolproof, with very high levels of cornering grip and ESP electronic stability control to save embarrassment when they are exhausted.
The electric folding hard top when controlled remotely from the key brings a "transformer robots in disguise" feel to the car. Fast, 4 seater convertible with M Sport technology .. Fully loaded with blutooth, satnav & iPod connection.
4's up with effortless performance, comfort & economy. A good look for the drivers who does not need to try too hard. Spec is all you need, beautifully weighted steering/brakes & chassis to boot. Overall "businesslike, effective with quiet appreciation from those who know".
It is perhaps the best-made Jaguar ever, and its looks will keep it young for a while. This is not some 50-year-old lady with a tummy tuck, boob job and Botox. It's a clean sheet of paper.
More than half of the TT is made of aluminium, so it's light and agile. Both engines are extremely potent, so the drive is sensational.
Refined; spacious; well equipped; capable off-road
Boxster offers an impressive experience with fast responses and excellent refinement. The cabin isn't short of standard equipment, and boot space is realistic.
Roof up or down, you're bombarded with a spine-tingling soundtrack that rises to a furious howl. The ride is surprisingly supple, and the brakes powerful. Throttle response is sharp, and the torque delivery flexible enough to pin you back to the seat. Yet the gearshift and clutch are light and satisfying to use. A few of the rough edges have been rubbed off, largely in drive ability and ride comfort, but this TVR is still very much a hands-on experience - and we wouldn't have it any other way.
The Sagaris has awesome pace, pin-sharp responses, a good ride and dramatic looks
Incredibly charismatic car. Not only pretty but seriously addictive.
The 996's combination of eye-popping performance, sublime steering, phenomenal grip and howling flat-six engine makes a truly addictive cocktail.
Musical, flexible V12 engine; clever six-speed paddle-shift automatic gearbox; brilliantly sorted chassis; gorgeous interior.
Power is provided by a massive 6.0-litre W12 engine, producing 550bhp with enormous character and ease. The six-speed automatic transmission also lays claim to being the best, most responsive such unit in the world and is faultless in operation. Yet it's the way the Bentley drives which really raises eyebrows. Air suspension and four-wheel-drive provide stability and composure which enthusiasts used to only dream of - yet the big coupe doesn't mind hitching up its skirt and charging hard, either.
Nearly 90 years on from its first car, Bentley is still one of the most revered and respected names in the industry. These are not efficient vehicles. They are, however, machines of power and glory. The Arnage's 6.75 litre V8 Turbocharged engine produces 400BHP hitting 60Mph in 5.9 seconds.
Sensational Italian supercar nearly does it all - and wraps that considerable talent in a fantastic-looking body. A modern-day masterpiece, The Gallardo features an aluminium bodyshell and spaceframe chassis, but you only have to look at it to know it stays true to the Italian company's history of producing jaw-dropping machinery
